Kalamarka (Slovakia)

Last week we went routeclimbing in Slovakia with Stanley, Gilles and Jonas. Stanley invited us all to stay at his house in Slovakia. His hospitality was heart warming. Kalamarka is an old crag with amazing fluorescent rock. Stanley bolted many routes here 20 years ago, one of them is Bambus graded UIAA X- (8a+). Im still working on my endurance and the routes are bolted quite extremely (1 bolt every 6-7 meters is quite common!!) so i decided to lead up to 7b and toprope the harder stuff.
The crag is very similar to berdorf but the rock is lava rock, so the friction is amazing even on hot days! There wern't so many boulders but this 7a was quite nice.
This trip we learned a lot about the local culture, especially the Slivka. Hard liquor!!
The wierdest thing to drink here is cola mixed with coffee and you can get it in every bar from the tap!!
